Everyone over time develops their own unique bits and bobs that tremendously help them achieve a specific task. Here are some resources/techniques I use in my day-to-day life.
- Note Making:
I’ve probably mentioned this innumerable times but that’s really just how important it is. I often refer to note-making as the kernel of my learning. They have become such an indispensable part of my education that I don’t feel confident about a concept until I jot some notes down. Despite the length, please make notes! They are an extremely undervalued tool. Moreover, they also serve as an excellent medium of revision and skimming through information once more. I have a post dedicated to just this: https://snaginthebag.com/the-art-of-note-making/
2. Quizlet:
Quizlet is an excellent platform for making yourself familiar with subject-specific terminology. The website makes use of flashcards, familiarising you with the terms. There are several other study modes – learn, write, spell and test. It truly helps capture all the aspects of understanding definitions, making the process so much simpler.
3. Merriam Webster – Word Of The Day:
When looking to make your vocabulary grandiloquence, Merriam Webster serves as an extremely effective platform. With its incredible ‘Word Of The Day’ newsletter, you can learn a new word daily by simply subscribing to it. The website also has many games that will undoubtedly help drive your lexicon to new limits.

4. Starting Early:
Often, we tend to start working on something last minute; however, this may labour once or twice but in the long run, it’s unsustainable. Speaking from experience, it is always best to start at least two weeks preceding what you’re working for. Firstly, this prevents amok. You don’t need to panic or procrastinate because you know you have enough time. Secondly, this gives you the time to plan exactly what you want to do and how you wish to do it. Trust me, this makes the process so much smoother and staves off the unnecessary stress.
5. Language Aid:
Learning languages can become a vigorous task, especially when studying a foreign one. I learnt Spanish for 4 years, then switched to French last year. Being fairly new to the language, I have struggled quite a bit. Language Guide has assisted me remarkably. The website has aid for a slew of languages. Each language is briefly divided into three: vocabulary, grammar and reading. The website makes use of audiovisual methods and has excellent notes on grammar. Moreover, it has reading texts arranged in sequence of difficulty that you can read to enhance your skills.
